Om Artemis

Artemis, dyrenes beskytter…
Dyreklinikken er navngivet efter den græske gudinde Artemis, der ifølge den oldgræske mytologi var dyrenes beskytter. Hun er ofte portrætteret i litteraturen med bue og pil som et symbol på, at hun også var jagtens gudinde.

Gudinden var kendt som en frygtløs og ansvarlig jæger, der brugte sine egenskaber på at beskytte de svage dyr i skoven. Hun nedlagde derfor skovens vilde og utæmmede rovdyr, der truede idyllen for de mindre og svagere dyr og var således med til at gøre skoven et trygt sted for selv den mindste skabning. Artemis beskrives desuden som lysets gudinde. Hun lyser de steder, hvor der er mørkt og giver os kræfter til at bringe os sikkert gennem vores frygt.
