Health check and vaccination
At Artemis, we conduct a thorough health examination of your pet, checking it from head to tail. We examine the teeth, ears, coat, paws, heart, and lungs.
We are also happy to discuss your pet’s behavior, as behavior often reflects their health condition. Nutrition and proper feeding are also essential parts of the annual health check.
We recommend a health check EVERY year.
Dog vaccination
During the annual health check, Artemis Animal Clinic reviews your dog’s vaccination status. In Denmark, we vaccinate against the following diseases: distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus diarrhea, parainfluenza, and leptospirosis.
The vet tailors the vaccination to each dog’s specific needs through a conversation with the owner. The vaccine consists of different disease components and can be combined in various ways.

Cat vaccination
The annual health check for cats also includes vaccination.
Kittens should be vaccinated twice, with a one-month interval, before they turn 6 months old.
Cats are commonly vaccinated against feline distemper (parvovirus) and cat flu (herpes and calicivirus).
The vaccines come as a combined package, so we vaccinate against both diseases each year.
We recommend vaccination for both indoor and outdoor cats. An indoor cat can still be exposed to infection through people and other animals that enter the home.

Traveling with pets
Rabies vaccination!
For all countries, both dogs and cats must be vaccinated against rabies if they are traveling abroad.
The vaccine can only be given once the pet is 12 weeks old. It becomes valid 21 days after it is administered, so travel can only occur 3 weeks after the rabies vaccination.
Pet Passport!
If your pet is traveling abroad, it will also need a pet passport. The passport is issued by your veterinarian.
